Distribution of the COVID-19 Vaccine has begun and has brought a host of questions for employers.
The Employers Network and OneSpartanburg, Inc. have partnered to provide employers with a virtual session on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am containing information on the COVID-19 Vaccine and what employers need to know. Wade Ballard, Partner with FordHarrison and Chris Lombardozzi, Chief Medical Officer at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System will present data for employers on the following topics:

- Responding to objections to vaccination
- Handling requests for accommodations due to religion or disability
- Issues relating to time off and pay
- Spotting issues relating to providing incentives for vaccination
- Is the COVID-19 vaccine safe?
- How long is the vaccine effective?

- Why should I get the COVID-19 vaccine?
- Will I test positive for Covid-19 after being vaccinated?
- Can I get COVID-19 between doses?

Chris Lombardozzi, MD, Fellow American Academy of Emergency Physicians
Dr. Lombardozzi is the VP & Chief Medical Officer-Quality, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. He received a BS degree from Columbia University, NY '89, and a MD degree from Rush Medical College, Chicago '94. He completed a Combined Emergency Medicine/Pediatrics Residency at Indiana University '99.
Dr. Lombardozzi has been practicing emergency medicine since 1999. He served 15 years as Spartanburg County EMS Medical Director and 10 years as the Regional One Medical Director.
He is the Liaison to CDC HICPAC (Hospital Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee) and a Member of SRHS COVID Taskforce. |

Wade Ballard counsels businesses on the entire range of workplace issues and provides advice and representation to employers on employment law, including wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, retaliation discrimination, harassment, and other issues of concern to employers.
He represents management in labor and employment matters in the courts, in arbitration, and before government agencies, including the EEOC, the U.S. Department of Labor, the North and South Carolina Departments of Labor, the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission, and other agencies at the federal, state and local level. He has worked extensively with employers in many industries, including the healthcare, automotive, telecommunications, hospitality, and aerospace industries.
Wade is certified by the Supreme Court of South Carolina as a Specialist in the area of Employment and Labor Law. He is a former member and past chairman of the South Carolina Supreme Court's Employment and Labor Law Specialization Advisory Board.
Wade is a past president of the Spartanburg Boys Home and a past President of Senior Centers of Spartanburg. He is a Past-Chairman and Board Member of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Upstate Workforce Board. He is also a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg. |
