Edge4Vets HR Summit

Learn how to better understand the needs of veterans and, thus, increase your vet hiring. Join us for a Chamber-Sponsored event on November 18th from 10 AM - 1 PM at Milliken. Lunch provided. A workshop for company HR officials to learn how to accelerate veteran's into your company's workforce. Companies in the Upstate need quality employees. There is no one better than a veteran to fulfill this need since veterans bring a strong work ethic and unique skills. The Edge4Vets program prepares veterans for employment by helping them learn to translate their military skills into tools for civilian success then connects them to jobs. (GSP airport hosted an Edge4Vets workshop in March to do just that. Vets learned how to develop a personal Plan4Success and got matched to companies eager to hire them.) By the same token, company HR officials, especially those with no military experience, gain when they also get support to better UNDERSTAND the needs of veterans. The chamber will host an Edge4Vets workshop to ORIENT company HR reps and hiring managers on the needs of veterans and how companies can meet vets' needs and, in turn, increase your rate of adding veterans to your workforce.
