Join us for FYI Friday on August 26 with Jennifer Evins, president & CEO of The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg, as she shares the details of "Seeing Spartanburg in a New Light," the result of a public arts grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies.
About the Speaker
As President and CEO, Evins, heads a conglomerate of eight nonprofit collaborative "partners” that “co-locate” at the Chapman Cultural Center. Evins became President of CCC in June 2011. As a volunteer, Evins spearheaded the capital fundraising campaign that built the Chapman Cultural Center, raising more than $42 million and lead the $10 million campaign that built Spartanburg’s new Thomas E. Hannah YMCA. Prior to joining the nonprofit field, Evins had an extensive professional career in marketing and public relations.
Evins is an Upstate Diversity Leadership Institute Fellow of 2006 and 2008 Hull Fellow of the Southeastern Council on Foundations. She serves as Chairwoman of Spartanburg Academic Movement and CoChair of Civic Pride Task Force of Spartanburg’s Way to Wellville. Evins is a 1995 Graduate of Leadership Spartanburg, Program Chair for Leadership Spartanburg 2008 & 2009 and is the recipient of the LSAA Alumni Award from 2008. She received the Nevelle Holcomb Distinguished Citizenship Award, Mary Mildred Sullivan Award from Wofford College and Hanover College’s Distinguished Alumna Award.
As Project Director, Evins is leading the $1million Seeing Spartanburg in a New Light public art project in partnership with City of Spartanburg, City of Spartanburg Police, Bloomberg Philanthropies and Artist Erwin Redl.
