About the Presenter

Kevin Stiens, Director of Parks and Recreation for Spartanburg County, brings over 15 years of experience working in local government. In his role with Spartanburg County he is responsible for the oversight and leadership of all aspects of the department. Before joining Spartanburg County, Stiens worked for the City of Greenville where he served as their Business Administrator and Assistant Parks and Grounds Administrator. Prior to his role in Greenville, Stiens served in parks and recreation roles in Jackson County, NC, as Cashiers Recreation Director and in the City of Hickory, NC, as Senior Recreation Programmer. Stiens holds a Masters of Public Administration from Clemson University, and a Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation Management from Western Carolina University. He is a graduate of National Parks and Recreation Director’s School and holds various certifications in the field of Parks and Recreation.
