There is no cure for HIV/AIDS, but there is HOPE. There are many medicines available that help lower the risk of infecting others. People who get early treatment can live with the disease for a long time.
Ryan White has hemophilia and contracted AIDS in 1984 following a transfusion from a "tainted blood product." Initially given six months to live, White died on April 8, 1990.
Join us and hear Ryan's mother, Jeanne White-Ginder, tell the story of her son, the stigmas that remain with HIV/AIDS, the need for testing and how she is still fighting for Ryan's legacy today.
Dinner will be served by reservation only. The deadline to register is November 15. Please call 864-560-7507 for more information.
This event is made possible by the Spartanburg Regional Foundation and the Medical Group of the Carolinas - Infectious Disease.
