In 2017, voters approved a penny sales tax that has funded a new Spartanburg County Courthouse, a joint City-County Government Complex, and more. This November, voters will decide whether to continue the one-cent sales tax for another six years, with all money raised going to road projects.
Overall, Spartanburg County roadways have earned a failing grade. The penny sales tax is the most cost-conscious and most effective way to fix roads and fix them quickly, especially considering more than 30% of the cost will be paid for by travelers and visitors coming to and through Spartanburg.
Hear more information about the condition of our county’s roads with Spartanburg County Administrator Cole Alverson. Then, learn the benefits of voting YES to continue the penny with OneSpartanburg, Inc. President and CEO Allen Smith.
